Introduction: Polytrauma generates physical, psychological, and social sequelae; an approach to adaptation using nursing models such as Callista Roy's Adaptation Model is required. Methodology: A systematic review (2020–2025) was conducted in databases, without language restrictions, following PRISMA guidelines and selecting 35 studies on adaptation in polytrauma patients or those with trauma in emergency departments and acute hospitalization. Results: Observational studies predominated, describing deterioration in quality of life, burden of emotional symptoms, and difficulties returning to work; studies applying Roy's Model showed improvement in physical symptoms, coping, and perceived support. Discussion: Adaptation in polytrauma patients is a dynamic process that affects the four modes of Roy's model and depends on personal, relational, and organizational factors, requiring interdisciplinary interventions and continuity of care. Conclusions: Integrating Callista Roy's Adaptation Model into emergency care can guide assessments and person-centered care, although further intervention studies and research in Latin American contexts are needed.
