Impacto ambiental de productos dermatológicos: Una revisión sistemática sobre ecofarmacovigilancia.

Introducción: La ecofarmacovigilancia constituye un enfoque estratégico para identificar, evaluar y mitigar los riesgos ambientales; en la actualidad el uso extensivo de productos o fármacos dermatológicos ha incrementado la liberación de residuos al medio ambiente, convirtiéndolos en contaminantes con potencial impacto ecotoxicológico, especialmente cuando su manejo y disposición final son inadecuados. Objetivo: Analizar el impacto ambiental de los productos dermatológicos desde la perspectiva de la ecofarmacovigilancia a través de la evaluación de las estrategias existentes para la gestión segura de sus residuos. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura utilizando las bases de datos PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar y Cochrane Library y aplicando el modelo PRISMA en el proceso de selección, quedando incluidos estudios publicados entre 2020 y 2025, en español e inglés, que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Resultados: Los hallazgos evidencian deficiencias en la gestión de residuos dermatológicos y una relación directa con la contaminación hídrica, disrupción endocrina y desarrollo de resistencia antimicrobiana, resaltando la necesidad de fortalecer el cuidado ambiental mediante mejores prácticas de gestión en el área farmacológica. Conclusiones: La ecofarmacovigilancia no solo amplía el alcance tradicional de la farmacovigilancia, sino que representa una oportunidad estratégica para mejorar la calidad de la atención dermatológica y reducir el impacto ambiental de los medicamentos y productos dermatológicos contribuye de manera efectiva al desarrollo de estrategias para la gestión segura de sus residuos.
