Intracerebral hemorrhage during pregnancy has an incidence of around 30 cases per100,000 pregnancies and is classified as a catastrophic medical emergency with high maternal and infant mortality. In Ecuador, where hypertensive disorders of pregnancy contribute to one of the leading causes of maternal and fetal mortality, their identification and multidisciplinary management are vital. This article reviews the epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis, and therapeutic management of these disorders.
