Abstract

Digital hyperconnectivity represents one of the main challenges in modern work environments, resulting from the constant use of electronic devices and digital tools that keep workers permanently connected. While these technologies have improved efficiency, communication, and flexibility, they have also created new demands that affect workers' health and well-being, particularly by blurring the boundaries between personal and professional life when employees respond to messages outside working hours.

This article analyzes the impact of digital hyperconnectivity on work-related stress and psychosocial risks through a quantitative, descriptive-correlational study conducted with 60 workers from the services, technology, and higher education sectors. Factors examined include constant availability, information overload, disruption of rest time, and difficulty achieving adequate digital disconnection, identifying consequences such as stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, fatigue, and reduced job satisfaction.

The results show that technostress (M = 3.36) significantly predicts psychosocial risks (r = .61; p < .001; R² = .37), with fatigue and technology addiction emerging as the most influential dimensions. Remote workers showed the highest levels of technostress.

These findings confirm that constant exposure to information and communication technologies significantly increases psychosocial risks, affecting job performance and workers' quality of life. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for organizations to implement strategies that promote work-life balance, strengthen psychological well-being, and guarantee the right to digital disconnection, which constitutes the main contribution of this research to occupational risk prevention policies.
