This quasi-experimental study aimed to compare the effects of the POLD method and conventional massage in older adults suffering from chronic low back pain. The study was conducted with a sample of 20 patients, who were divided into two groups: the first group was evaluated with the PLOD method and the second with conventional massage. The study was conducted over a specific period, applying specific protocols for each technique, and variables such as pain level and functionality were assessed before and after treatment. The results demonstrated that the application of both methods led to a reduction in pain and improved functionality, while the application of the POLD method showed significant improvements. The present statistical analysis showed a positivedifference in the evaluation of each of the patients using the POLD method compared to those who underwent conventional massage alone. Therefore, it is concluded that the POLD method is more effective for treating chronic low back pain in older adults, asit improves not only the painful symptoms but also the mobility and quality of life of each patient.
