Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the breast: Case report

Breast cancer is a very frequent pathology with more than 2.3 million cases diagnosed worldwide, it causes high mortality in women and is the second most diagnosed neoplasm. Its classification is divided into anatomical, molecular and special forms, within the latter fits the undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the breast of which a case report will be made being very important because it represents less than 1%, the literature reviewed is scarce and in our country so far no cases have been reported in the databases. Case description: 46-year-old female patient with a history of arterial hypertension and phylloid tumor of the right breast treated 6 years ago with wide resection. Four years ago she presented with a mass in the right breast, a physical examination was performed and after complementary examinations such as ultrasound, mammography, cytology that reported typical hyperplasia, a neoplasm was established. 3 months later a mastectomy was performed with biopsy of the right axillary node and immunohistochemistry which reported an undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, which was treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the sarcoma did not respond to treatment, it metastasized to the lungs and the patient died. Conclusion: Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the breast is a rare pathology, whose definitive diagnosis is based on histopathology and immunohistochemistry.
