Abstract

Occupational noise is one of the most common physical hazards in industrial and agro-industrial environments due to the continuous use of machinery and equipment that generate high sound pressure levels. Constant exposure to noise in the workplace can significantly affect workers' quality of life. Among the most common consequences are gradual hearing loss, physical and mental fatigue, stress, and reduced concentration during the workday. These conditions can negatively impact both workers' health and their daily job performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of occupational noise on workers' health through a bibliographic review of scientific studies and regulatory documents related to occupational safety and health in the agro-industrial sector.

The research was conducted using a qualitative, bibliographic, and descriptive approach, based on the review and analysis of scientific articles, books, theses, and documents issued by national and international organizations specialized in industrial hygiene and occupational risk prevention. In addition, studies related to noise exposure in industrial workshops and the main control measures used to reduce its effects on workers' health were examined.

The findings obtained from the documentary review revealed that prolonged exposure to occupational noise remains one of the leading causes of hearing disorders and adverse effects on the physical and psychological well-being of workers. Furthermore, it was identified that many agro-industrial environments still face limitations in the implementation of preventive measures aimed at controlling this hazard. Based on the evidence analyzed, control actions were proposed, including engineering controls, administrative measures, and hearing protection strategies, with the aim of minimizing noise exposure and promoting safer and healthier working environments.
