Efectividad de Gemini como Herramienta de Apoyo al Aprendizaje en la Educación Superior Ecuatoriana: Una Revisión Sistemática

Resumen

La irrupción de las herramientas de inteligencia artificial generativa en los entornos educativos universitarios ha abierto un debate amplio sobre sus posibilidades y limitaciones pedagógicas. El presente artículo constituye una revisión sistemática de la literatura científica publicada entre 2019 y 2024, orientada a examinar la efectividad de Google Gemini como herramienta de apoyo al aprendizaje en la educación superior, con énfasis particular en el contexto ecuatoriano. Para la selección de estudios se siguieron los lineamientos PRISMA, consultando bases de datos como Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC y Google Scholar mediante combinaciones de términos booleanos. Tras la aplicación de criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se analizaron 38 fuentes científicas. Los hallazgos revelan que Gemini presenta ventajas significativas en la personalización del aprendizaje, la generación de retroalimentación inmediata y la diversificación de materiales pedagógicos; sin embargo, también evidencia limitaciones vinculadas a la precisión de la información, los sesgos algorítmicos y las desigualdades en el acceso tecnológico. En Ecuador, la implementación de estas herramientas enfrenta retos adicionales relacionados con la infraestructura digital deficiente, las brechas de competencias docentes y la ausencia de marcos regulatorios claros. Se concluye que, si bien la evidencia disponible apunta hacia un efecto positivo moderado en el rendimiento académico y la motivación estudiantil, la investigación empírica específica sobre Gemini en contextos latinoamericanos y ecuatorianos sigue siendo escasa, lo que abre una agenda investigativa urgente para la comunidad académica regional.
