The textile industry is one of the productive sectors that generates the largest volumes of waste worldwide, largely because of accelerated production models associated with the phenomenon known as fast fashion. This situation has increased interest in strategies aimed at the reuse and valorization of discarded textile materials within circular economy approaches. In this context, sustainable marketing can play a significant role by facilitating the transformation of textile waste into products with commercial value.
This study analyzes the commercial valorization opportunities of textile waste derived from used or discarded clothing through a sustainable marketing approach. The research adopts an exploratory qualitative design based on documentary review of scientific literature, international reports, and studies related to textile recycling, circular economy, and green marketing.
The findings suggest that textile waste can be transformed into inputs for the production of new goods such as recycled fashion accessories, decorative products, and functional materials with potential for insertion into niche markets associated with ethical fashion and sustainable consumption.
The study concludes that sustainable marketing can contribute to the commercial valorization of textile waste while simultaneously supporting waste reduction and circular economy business models.
This study contributes to the understanding of sustainable marketing as a strategic tool within circular economy frameworks.
