¿Cómo mejoran las herramientas digitales la competencia en inglés en las aulas de EFL? Un enfoque de modelado multinivel

El estudio analiza la efectividad de herramientas digitales en la enseñanza de inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL), destacando su impacto en las habilidades de comunicación oral. Utilizando un enfoque de métodos mixtos y un Modelo Lineal Jerárquico (HLM), se evaluaron 27 estudiantes de 9 escuelas, considerando variables como frecuencia de uso de herramientas digitales, tipo de herramienta (plataformas en línea, pizarras interactivas, software educativo), capacitación docente, tamaño de clase y nivel socioeconómico. Los resultados muestran que la capacitación docente es el factor más determinante, incrementando la competencia lingüística en 8.48 puntos (p<0.01). Las plataformas en línea superan al software educativo (+3.42 puntos, p=0.0055), mientras que las pizarras interactivas no muestran diferencias significativas (p=0.496). La frecuencia de uso de herramientas digitales tiene un efecto moderado (+1.30 puntos, p=0.39), pero su implementación sistemática mejora el aprendizaje. No se encontraron variaciones significativas entre escuelas (p=0.136), sugiriendo que estas estrategias son aplicables en diversos contextos. Se recomienda fortalecer la capacitación docente, priorizar plataformas en línea, y establecer un uso frecuente y estructurado de herramientas digitales para maximizar el aprendizaje del inglés.
