Abstract

This study examined the health and well-being determinants that influence language development in children aged 3 to 4 years through a systematic literature review. Twenty-eight documents from indexed databases were analyzed, applying inclusion criteria that prioritized publications from the 2020-2024 period with rigorous methodologies. Findings showed that nutritional status constitutes a significant predictor of cognitive and linguistic development, particularly adequate micronutrient intake during the first years of life. Likewise, emotional regulation and social interactions in educational contexts were found to facilitate the acquisition of communicative competencies, including expressive vocabulary, verbal comprehension, and phonological awareness. Results also revealed that socioeconomic factors configure disparities in access to linguistically stimulating environments, which affects child development trajectories. It was concluded that language promotion in early childhood requires multidimensional interventions that articulate nutrition, socioemotional well-being, and contextualized linguistic stimulation, particularly in vulnerable populations within the Latin American context.
